Choose your own Adventure
In 2012 I did my first and only Ragnar race in Utah. I was the strongest runner in our team of 12 (which is why we took forever to finish). We’d run a leg, hop in the van, and off to the next stop we’d head. At first it was pretty great, but after a while it became a bit of a challenge to stay enthusiastic and good cheerleaders. By my 3rd leg, I had been riding around in a van for 12 hours full of running stench and hopped up on coffee, bars, and Gatorade. That 3rd leg was rough as I ran through the early morning dawn. I wasn’t having fun and I felt miserable, but I was stoked to have completed my Ragnar Trifecta.
This months challenge is kind of a choose your own adventure. You can run 3 miles every 8 hours for 24 hours or run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. Admittedly, the 4x4x48 is a really tough challenge. So Josh and I have P&P schwag to give away to those that complete the 4x4x48. You can bike the challenges as well by multiplying the distances by 3. Once you’ve completed the challenge, tag @joshpierce and @ryanmellem in your activity. One winner will be selected at random for the monthly prize. Please reach out with any questions. As always, have fun, be safe, and anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
